If you are looking to amuse the family, business associates, or the "kid" in you then possibly it is worth checking into Busch Gardens. They attribute all sorts of rides, a zoo of sorts with animals walking among you, or so it seems, and creatures you do not see in your everyday life.

1. Arrange your trip to Williamsburg. Sometimes you can get Busch Gardens tickets as a part of a Virginia Vacation package. Glimpse in the Entertainment coupon book or one more local coupon book to get discounts. There are also discount deals on the backs of soda pop cans, cereal boxes and hidden on other products.

2. Decide when you want to visit the Busch Gardens, then call to make sure they are open or go on their website to verify park hours, schedule and limitations. There are also particular events, so you will want to check with a calendar or timetable to see if you are visiting during those events.

Virginia's rich history was an essential element of the settling of Colonial America, the split from Great Britain and the American Revolution, the founding of our country, and other major national historic events, such as the Civil War. Throughout the state, there are historic sites, museums, visitor centers, exhibits and more that pay homage to Virginia's past. Visitors not only learn about the state's history, but experience it, as many locations offer restored and replica infrastructure, in addition to often having tour guides dress and play the part of their earlier counterparts.

1. Head toward Charlottesville for a tour to more than a few homes of presidents past. Thomas Jefferson's Monticello, outside of Charlottesville, features house and grounds tours, Saturdays in the garden, an activity center for children and seasonal wine tours. Ash Lawn-Highland, also nearby, is the former home of James Monroe and houses a museum, working farm and performing arts center. In Orange, 30 minutes outside of Charlottesville, find Montpelier, James Madison's home and estate. Don't miss Michie Tavern, right near Monticello, for a midday meal of Southern classics served by waiters dressed in authentic Colonial garb.

2. Verify out the Richmond National Battlefield Park, part of the National Park Service system of parks, and encompassing an 80-mile area of 13 Civil War historic sites and four visitor centers.

3. Stop by the first enduring English colony in America at Virginia's Jamestown, near Williamsburg, settled in 1607 by a group of English settlers from the Virginia Company. Tour living history replicas of three ships that traveled across the Atlantic, a fort and a Powhatan Indian village, all with costumed actors on hand to provide walking tours and historical narrative.

4. Experience the national tourist destination, Colonial Williamsburg, the capital of Virginia during the Colonial period, and the birthplace of many of the ideas that fueled the American Revolution and the birthplace of the United States.

On your Virginia Beach holiday you will have fun. Not just because you're playing in the beach and having fun in the sand but, because you will be savvy to the greatest attractions that Virginia Beach offers. Virginia Beach is an astonishing place with lots to offer. It is a great place to visit and there are several things visitors can do on your vacation. It is important to know about these things you can do on your vacation because if you don't know what to do you're likely to just sit there on the beach and wind up with sunburn. It is extremely interesting to know that the Cape Henry lighthouse is the oldest government built lighthouse in all of America is the traditional symbol of Virginia Beach.

This is absolutely a must-see attraction. Not only will you get a little history of the area you can also enjoy the view of this beautiful lighthouse. If you are continuing to look for history in Virginia Beach you may want to visit the Old Donation Episcopal Church that dates back to 1736. The original building of this church was destroyed in 1916 and rebuilt using the same remains of the original walls. Another fun attraction is the Ocean Breeze Water Park. This water park has 1,000,000 gallon wave pool and 16 slides for your enjoyment. It's a great way to cool off during the hot summer days and it gives you some variety in your water activities. Virginia Beach also has an adventure cruise company that offers two cruises each day. On the screws as you can look for pelicans, dolphins, ships and lighthouses. Sailing times are between 2 PM and 7 PM. As you can see Virginia Beach is a great vacation for you to take. Whether you are visiting the Cape Henry lighthouse, the oldest lighthouse in all of America built by the government or you are visiting the aquarium that holds 800,000 gallons of water.

Your vacation at Virginia Beach should be an absolute blast. As stated earlier don't get stuck sitting around on the beach doing absolutely nothing and certainly do not get stuck leaving Virginia Beach with nothing but sunburn.

Virginia Beach - eleven miles of smooth and shore stretched along the Atlantic Coast. It's a well-known family vacation spot, and its repute is well-deserved. The beach is manicured - nightly in season, less often after the crowds vanish. Restaurants are family-style to world-class. Activities abound for every interest. We stay at the south end of the beach because it seems a bit quieter. Here is a sampling of our favorite amenities in the area.

Since we live in Pennsylvania, fresh seafood is a siren-song. We look forward to the eats as much as the beach. And the south end of the beach boasts four of the best restaurants in the area. Dine at Laverne's for She-crab soup, and a choice of seafood entrees that simply aren't accessible inland. The prime-rib-and-shrimp platter is nothing short of astonishing! The rib was excellent, and there were enough shrimp to share with my dinner companions.

Beside Laverne's is the famous Mahi-Mahis’ for ... more seafood. Their 3-6 p.m. special of oysters, clams and sushi is a 'must' at least a couple times during your stay. Make plans for dinner at Mah's on Tuesday night: the special before 7 p.m. is prime rib or a whole lobster! Just up the street is the Black Angus Steak House. Another excellent meal - try their buy-one-get-one special. The shish-kabob was perfectly grilled, (the peppers and onions are the best); add a loaded baked potato. You won't need dessert, but the Chocolate Cake is to-die-for! Order one with several forks!

Thursday night try Rockafeller's at Rudee's Inlet for twin lobsters and she-crab soup! Other favorites are Waterman's, The Jewish Mother (open only for dinner off-season) and Abbey Road. Virginia Beach has it all: miles of sand and surf, outstanding dining, family-friendly activities, and easy access to the entire historic Tidewater area of Virginia. Come once, you'll come again! And again!
