College was never a small financial endeavor. These days it’s downright ridiculous how much colleges are getting in tuition. The textbooks alone can put you in the poorhouse. Buying used textbooks is good but not always an option. Enter the new option of renting your textbooks.
Rather than having to buy all of your books and then decide at a future date which ones will be useful in the future and which ones will not, renting your textbooks allows you the option to buy only the books you feel will be highly utilitarian in your future while the others simply go back to the person from whom you rented them. The purchase price of the book is usually the regular price plus what the student already paid in rental fees. Buying your textbooks up front usually leaves you with unwanted books which you are either stuck with or you are forced to settle for a disgustingly low buy back price. The convenience of this new option of obtaining textbooks is not only evident at the end of the semester when you simply mail the book back (pre-paid) or make a decision to purchase it; but by the fact that you know you won’t be wasting valuable time searching for the right book because the person who supplies the books will be sending exactly the books you need. It takes the guess work out.
Everybody these days seems to be going green… Students are no exception. When there are so many volumes of text books already in existence why not save the production of millions of new textbooks by choosing to rent textbooks whenever possible. Never used again books that were used for one term and then forgotten about line the bookshelves of many a home or city dump.
If you want to contribute to the saving of your environment consider renting your textbooks this year, and in following years, to discourage the printing and wasting of textbooks in the future.
